Sunday School

Sunday School will begin its third year on Sunday, September 12, 2010.  We will have classes for Preschool and Kindergarten and Grades 1 through 6th grade.

Three-year-olds are welcome as long as they are potty trained.  Anyone wishing to volunteer as teachers or helpers are very welcomed!  Contact Barry or Joy Gostchock at 651-207-8387 to discuss your options.

New this year:  Grades 7 and 8 and up are invited to join in Sunday School using a Bible Study format.  They will meet from 9:45 to 10:20 each week.  They pick what they want to study!

    ALL WOMEN ARE WELCOME . . . .

to come to a Saturday morning Bible Study on the gospel of John.  We meet the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the fireside room at church.  We use the Bible, a Wisconsin Synod study guide and the People’s Bible Commentary.  You are welcome to come on a trial basis to see if it fits your needs.  It’s informal and informational but there are no forms to fill out to attend!  Fellowship, prayer, coffee and sometimes treats are always on the agenda.  Our first meeting will be on September 25.

PLEASE HELP RESTOCK FOOD SHELF

The food shelf is in need of cereal and fruit.  Any other food items that are useful to families are greatly appreciated!  Thank you for your kindness and generosity!  A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.  Proverbs 22:9

Looking ahead . . .

Families needed to host students from November 12-14, 2010

St. Croix LutheranHigh School will be hosting the West Regional Choral fest on November 12-14.  This is an annual event where our Lutheran high school choirs gather together to work together on learning some amazing pieces to praise our God in one breathtaking concert.  It’s a great and encouraging weekend for the students and everyone involved.

Each church would be responsible for housing a choir (anywhere from 15-30 students).  The choir would sing for the Sunday service(s) at their church.

Host families would be responsible for picking their students up at their church each evening (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) and delivering them back to their church the following morning.  They would need to feed them breakfast and give them a place to sleep.

Either the church or the host families would also need to feed the choir lunch on Sunday.

Please communicate with Tam Bandelin in the church office as soon as possible if you are willing to participate in this exciting event.  Thank you!
